Preferences, Rate and Pricing Settings

Last updated

Preferences are the account-wide settings that every user of a Neviscater account shares: the business details that print on reports, currency and locale, how guests and plates are counted, which optional modules are switched on, dashboard widgets, printing choices, and the pricing rules that turn costs into quoted rates. The settings live under Application Setup → Preferences; the pricing rules under Application Setup → Rate & Pricing Preferences. Click Save at the bottom after changes.

Business Details

Company Name, Logo, Address, Contact No. 1 / 2, Email, Website, GST No., FSSAI License No., and bank details — Bank Name, Branch, Account Name, Account No., IFSC Code, UPI ID, QR Code image. These print on menus and bills (see Printing and PDF Templates). Use the reset links to remove an uploaded image.

These are the business's details for printing. Your own sign-in details — name, mobile number, password — are changed from the My Account drawer in the top-right user menu; see My Account.

Locale

  • Country and State — used for regional data and tax labels.
  • Currency code, Currency symbol, Currency to display — how amounts are shown and printed.
  • GenAI language preference — English or Regional: the language GenAI features use when generating items, menus and materials.

General

Setting What it does
Order Measuring Unit The per-head unit for rates and quantities — Plate, Person, Guest, Thali. Shown wherever you see Rate / Plate.
… Equals … Guests Conversion when one unit feeds more than one guest (e.g. 1 Thali = 1 guest, 1 Tray = 4 guests). Quantity suggestions use it.
What we cook Pure Veg, Veg + Egg or Veg + Non-Veg. Decides only what the screens show: Pure Veg never sees the Veg / Non-Veg marking on items, Veg + Egg is offered Veg and Egg but not Non-Veg. Marks an item already carries are kept whatever you choose, and GenAI item suggestions follow it. It also decides whether events and catalog menus ask for Non-Veg Guests (called Egg Guests under Veg + Egg); under Pure Veg a count already entered is kept but ignored until the setting changes — see Events and Menus → Veg and non-veg guests. See Items and Recipes → Veg / Non-Veg.

Printing and Report Styles

Page headers, per-page options, item descriptions, translated text, Veg / Non-Veg on menus (not shown, marks before items, separate sections or side-by-side columns, each with headings or with marks), the Item-wise Raw Materials Layout (Detailed Table / Kitchen Sheet), fonts, background images, item-tag size and the Report Style picker — choose one of the built-in looks (Classic, Royale, Metro, Letterhead) with a live sample preview and a Download Sample PDF button — described in Printing and PDF Templates → Printing preferences.

Rate & Pricing Preferences

Application Setup → Rate & Pricing Preferences. Two jobs: the rules behind calculated rates, and one-click bulk price changes.

Profit Margin

Sets the margin Neviscater adds on top of cost when it shows the Calculated Rate per plate on an event's costing:

  • Percent — e.g. 25 % of cost, with an optional minimum amount per plate so very cheap menus still carry a floor margin.
  • Value — a fixed amount per plate.

The event's Cost Breakdown shows the margin applied (e.g. 25 % (₹40 minimum)). The margin influences the suggested rate only; the Quoted Rate you set on the event is always yours.

Items' Making Cost

When on, new recipes automatically get a Making Cost (labour, fuel, overhead) so calculated item rates are not just raw material:

  • Percent of the item's material cost, with a minimum amount, or
  • a fixed Value per unit.

Turn it off to enter making cost per item by hand. See Items and Recipes → Rates.

Bulk rate changes

Three panels let you move every rate at once — Materials' Costs, Item's Quoted Rates, Event's Quoted Rates:

  1. Choose Increase or Decrease.
  2. Choose Percent or Value and enter the amount.
  3. Save & Apply (or Apply).

Typical use: a 10 % rise in material prices at the start of the season — increase Materials' Costs by 10 %, then review the items flagged quoted below cost and raise Item's Quoted Rates. Changes are immediate and apply to all records; take a Restore Point first (see Saving and Restoring Your Data).

Common questions

Rate / Plate shows the wrong unit. Change Order Measuring Unit in General; existing orders keep their own unit (set at order creation).

Staff or Vendor screens are missing from the sidebar. Enable them in General — and check your plan includes them.

Dark theme is not applied for another user. Theme is an account setting; it applies to everyone after they reload.
