Beyond food, a function needs vessels to cook in, dishes to serve from, cutlery for guests and a pile of consumables. Neviscater calls the first three Itemware and the consumables Operational Resources. Set up the masters once, tell each item what it needs, and every order gets an automatic checklist. This is part of the Cookware, Serveware & Cutlery Management plan feature.
The four masters
All under Application Setup:
| Master | Examples | Key fields |
|---|---|---|
| Cookware Master | Handi 20 l, Tawa large, Deep fryer | Cookware Name, Type, Size, Description, Stock Quantity |
| Serveware Master | Chafing dish, Salad bowl, Counter tray | Serveware Name, Type, Size / Capacity, stock |
| Cutlery Master | Dinner plate, Spoon, Paper cup | Cutlery Name, Type, Disposable (yes/no), stock |
| Operational Resources | Napkins, Foil, LPG cylinder, Garbage bags | Name, Unit, Disposable, Pack Size / Pack Price (rate auto-computed), Consumption Qty (per order), stock |
Add entries with Add Cookware etc., or GenAI Cookware → Generate cookware for a starter list. Each master shows Used In (which items need it) or Not used by any item.
Disposable matters: disposable cutlery and disposable operational resources are consumed by orders (deducted at execution, reconciled in Disposable Actuals, purchasable on POs). Reusable ones go out on custody and come back: after the function you count them in under Itemware Returns and write off anything damaged or lost, which is the only thing that reduces their stock — see Order Execution and Actuals → Itemware Returns.
Tell each item what it needs
Open an item (Items Table) → Itemware tab, or Application Setup → Items & Recipes → Itemware. Use Add Item Cookware / Serveware / Cutlery:
-
Cookware / Serveware — choose the piece and how many:
- Fixed — a set number regardless of quantity (one tawa per dish).
- Otherwise Quantity per unit of the item or per plate/guest (pick the unit), with Quantity enough for a range — e.g. 1 handi is enough for up to 20 kg; above that, one more per 20 kg. Neviscater rounds up to whole pieces.
- Cutlery — Consumption / Unit: pieces per plate/guest (e.g. 1 dinner plate, 2 spoons) or per unit of the item.
Operational resources are not tied to items: their Consumption Qty (per order) applies to every order, and you adjust per order.
Delete All Cookware / Serveware / Cutlery clears an item's list. GenAI Items → Generate itemware (10 max) fills lists for selected items.
The per-order checklist
Order → Actions → Cookware, Serveware & Cutlery (sidebar Order Actions → Serveware, Cookware & Cutlery), or an event's Actions → Cookware, Serveware & Cutlery.
- Select Event — a single event or All Events (Whole Order); filter by Itemware Type; click Apply.
- For each piece: Itemware, Quantity Hint (calculated from the menu × the item rules), Quantity (your figure — edit and Update Quantity), Current Stock, Procurement Status.
- Add New Itemware adds something the rules did not produce (an extra counter tray), per event or per order.
- The Resources section lists operational resources with their per-order quantity; Update to change.
Quantities are read-only once the order is Locked; the tooltip tells you why.
Stock and purchasing
- Current Stock comes from the masters; a shortfall is visible at a glance.
- Create a purchase order for this entry raises a PO for disposables; on the PO form, Add disposables pulls the whole order's disposable cutlery and operational-resource requirements. Entries already covered show Already on a purchase order (status). See Purchase Orders.
- At execution with Update inventory ticked, disposable cutlery and resources are deducted from stock; reconcile leftovers in Disposable Actuals. See Order Execution and Actuals.
- Reusable cookware, serveware, cutlery and resources are not deducted. After the function, Itemware Returns on the order's Execution tab records what came back (Issued vs Returned) and lets you write off damaged or lost pieces, which reduces the master's stock. See Order Execution and Actuals → Itemware Returns.
Printing the checklist
Print on the screen, or Order → Actions → Print All Resources Checklist, gives a PDF of all cookware, serveware, cutlery and operational resources for packing. In the printing options tick Print columns for quantity in, out and balance to add empty In / Out / Balance boxes next to Required for the store-keeper to fill by hand while loading and unloading the truck. The figures recorded under Itemware Returns are not printed here.
Duplicating orders
When you Duplicate Order, tick Itemware adjustments and Operational resource adjustments to carry over your per-order edits (these require Menus to be copied too).
Common questions
The hint is zero for a piece. No item on the menu lists it, or the item's rule uses a unit that can't be matched. Check the item's Itemware tab.
I need an extra chafing dish that no item requires. Add New Itemware on the order/event.
Disposables don't appear on the Wastage Report. By design — leftover disposables are credited back to stock, never counted as wastage value.
